Intern Host Companies

The companies who work with us believe that internship programs have great potential, but have often been disappointed with the output of the internship program and the performance of the interns. They are committed to working closely with Futures Forge to design an internship project with high expectations, high responsibility, and high stakes. Our interns perform at a higher level than nearly all entry-level employees. They’re hungry for the opportunity to deliver results.

Interested in being one of our internship host partners? Apply below. We will evaluate whether your company and worldview are a great fit for our interns. These are some of our confirmed and public Intern Hosts:

Brookwood Financial Partners: Private Equity firm that focuses on commercial real estate. Beverly, MA.

Brookwood has had great successes in conventional commercial real estate over 30 years. They have moved into very innovative spaces recently, using novel ways of thinking to unlock hidden opportunity where conventional PE might not see it. The team always has great opportunities to apply a mix of structured and creative thinking in a team environment to create value.

Functions: finance, analysis

“The problem with most internships is that it takes 4-6 weeks for the intern to spool up. By the time they have, the internship is nearly over. Having an intern that is ready on day-one sounds amazing.”

We deliver high-quality, humanely raised meat and sustainably sourced seafood to consumers’ doors across the U.S. As a mission-driven business, our core values are a driving factor in our success both as a business and culturally. These core values are also a key element in our hiring process at every level and candidates can learn more about those here: https://youtu.be/K0SzbS5U4IY'

“Since 2022, ButcherBox’s intern program has had an incredible impact on the company while offering an unparalleled experience to college students. “I have always wanted the energy that comes with interns, but the quality is always the issue. We could get more ambitious with someone who we know is prepared to perform.”

Kevin Arts, VP Operations

Novel Beverage Co: Cannabis beverage manufacturer & distributor in Massachusetts & Maine. 21+

Novel is a highly complex operation. All of the core challenges of consumer packaged goods manufacturing and supply chain are combined with those of being in a rapidly-evolving consumer space. Customer behavior and the regulatory environment are both constantly changing. Novel and its competitors are racing to release and test new products in the market. There are many opportunities to make an impact quickly.

Novel is 21+ because it produces cannabis products. We actually specifically recommend that young people do not consume cannabis due to THC’s impact on brain development. Our students are adults and we believe some of them may be interested in the opportunity for many reasons, including their own future entrepreneurship.

Functions: supply chain and manufacturing, finance, marketing

“Novel is full of opportunities that the right talent could unlock, from operations to sales/marketing to business expansion. It’s a rapidly-changing company in a rapidly-changing landscape. Anyone trained by Nat and Erik for a year is going to have a field day here.”

Northeast Color: Enterprise signage for national brands that include YMCA, Planet Fitness, and many others. Dover, NH.

You have not heard of Northeast Color, but you have heard of their clients! NEC delivers at national scale, fielding the challenges of clients with thousands of locations. A great place to learn at a company where real things get built!

Functions: supply chain, marketing, operations, sales, software engineering

"Our partnership with Futures Forge reflects our commitment to growth, innovation, and stewardship. We look forward to welcoming an intern whose drive and perspective will contribute to our mission—helping clients bring their brands to life—while gaining hands-on experience, mentorship, and insight into how collaboration brings ideas to life."

OpenSend: Rapidly growing MarTech SaaS platform that is the “missed connections” platform for eCommerce companies to serve users that they missed. Based in LA & LV.

OpenSend is for interns who want the true scale-up experience. They have bottled lightning and are in a foot race to be the winner in a multibillion-dollar market that they have built. We will deploy interns here only if we are highly confident they can keep up!

Functions: software engineering, business development, sales, operations, marketing

"We can only seriously consider interns if we know they're going to perform. We move too fast and our goals are too aggressive to babysit anybody."

ProdPerfect: VC-backed tech startup using AI to automate software testing in large, complex applications. Remote.

ProdPerfect is a VC-backed tech startup that has had to reinvent itself after generative AI replaced machine learning as a core driver of software “learning.” Its current team are long veterans and some of the best in the industry. Fortune 500 companies are turning to ProdPerfect to solve otherwise-intractable problems in software quality. This is a company where you can get deep into understanding the world of software development at both the startup- and enterprise-scale.

Functions: software engineering, business development

“We haven’t had interns because we don’t have trivial projects to hand off. Like every company, we have unsolved problems. We are looking forward to getting the right talent talent to help us make some step changes in our operation.

Project Chiron: YCombinator-backed tech startup using AI to build “Grammarly for mathematics,” based in London, UK.

Like all early-stage startups, Project Chiron might not exist in early 2027… or it may be 10x its size now. The founders are wicked smart and operating on the bleeding edge of applied AI. Any intern working here will be operating at a highly accelerated pace.

“We’re on the bleeding edge of the frontier. Most people that we could hire would simply slow us down, so we need interns who can navigate ambiguity and think like an entrepreneur.”

Reagent Capital: Family office private equity firm, focusing on real estate and technology. Waltham, MA

Reagent is a scrappy firm that invests in value where others don't yet see it. We bring systems thinking and creativity to analysis to identify where there are hidden opportunities to meaningfully improve a business or property.

Functions: Analyst, finance

Receptor: High-end boutique brand and marketing consultancy in Providence, RI.

Many marketing firms do highly commoditized work that is mostly a temporary outsourcing. Erik has worked directly with Receptor before as a client, and is impressed by how they work with their clients and their team. Great marketing doesn’t happen by following a checklist. Great marketing involves breakthrough thinking after synthesizing understanding of the customer, the market, the product, and how those might interface. Founder Matt wants to challenge interns to step up into ownership they might not yet be comfortable with. We believe that aspiring marketers or founders will learn a great deal here.

"As a full-service creative agency, Receptor spearheads a wide range of projects for clients of all sizes and industries. When developing corporate identities and brand assets, our team of designers and developers are required to wear many hats in order to handle projects that cross a variety of creative competencies. An ideal intern for our agency would be someone that can take on not only the responsibility of completing the work on time and with great care and quality, but also the ability to think beyond the brief and provide solutions that accomplish what a client wants and what we feel they truly need. These skills take time to develop and become second nature, but our team of creatives is more than happy to inform, educate, and guide willing participants."

Tern: Infrastructure tech startups that automates code migrations. Remote.

Like all early-stage startups, Tern might not exist in early 2027… or it may be 10x its size now. Tern is working deep in the “picks and shovels” infrastructure space. Companies like Tern will continue to be the enablers of the AI tech revolution and will likely be a big part of a future that is otherwise in great flux. Interns interested in tech infrastructure can learn a lot here.

“We don’t typically pick up interns because the company changes too fast to hand anything simple and contained to someone who shows up in June and leaves in August. We also just don’t have the spare cycles to manage someone who needs a lot of hand-holding. We can do a lot with someone who is able to show up and help answer some big questions.”

YesWay: Gas station and convenience company with over 400 locations in the midwest. HQ in Beverly, MA.

Far from a sleepy cash cow, YesWay is a PE-backed startup that is aggressively building efficiency into the midwest market. It is actively seeking IPO and will grow further with that capital. This is a place to learn about PE, large company operations, supply chain, and finance in the trenches.

“This company is growing and changing at an amazing pace. Opportunities are arising constantly. We are very interested in finding new ways to acquire top talent — especially talent that is interested in hitting the ground running on day one.”
