Futures Forge Student Code of Conduct

While enrolled in the Futures Forge Skills for Success Course (the “Course”) it is expected that participants will abide by the following agreement (hereafter, the “FF Code of Conduct”).

Any violation of the FF Code of Conduct will be met with appropriate Disciplinary Action, up to and including Dismissal from the Program.  Any student who is dismissed from the Program will not be eligible for any refund relating to his or her dismissal.

Laws

I agree to obey all U.S. laws and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I will not be involved in any illegal activity during my studies abroad, including, but not limited to, the possession, use, transfer, or consumption of illegal drugs.

If I do become involved in any such activity, I acknowledge that I will be subject to immediate dismissal from the Program with no refund.

I acknowledge that FF will not assist in legal matters caused by a participant’s illegal conduct of any kind.

Alcohol and Drug Use Policy

 I will not possess or consume alcohol, marijuana, or other recreational substances that are illegal to possess for those under the age of 21 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

I will not use tobacco products or e-cigarettes/vapes on Campus during any of the Program. If I am addicted to nicotine, I will use medical patches, gum, or lozenges instead. I will only use prescription drugs if they are prescribed to me, and only use them as directed by my clinician. I will not use or abuse prescription or other drugs in any other way.

I acknowledge that any violation of the alcohol and drug policy will be taken seriously, and participants will be appropriately disciplined.

Additional FF Policies - Violation of any of the following may result in Disciplinary Action, up to and including Dismissal from the Program:

Failure to attend classes;

Failure to check-in during breakfast or curfews;

Failure to check-out and check-in during any departures from Campus;

Violation of the Alcohol and Drug Use Policy;

Criminal behavior;

Violation of U.S., state, or local laws, including theft, vandalism, and destruction of property;

Association with individuals arrested, charged or convicted of crimes;

Abusive language or behavior toward people living in or visiting your residence, FF staff, University faculty/staff, Program housing staff, or other Program participants;

Sexual harassment;

Disorderly, disruptive and distracting, indecent, or obscene conduct;

Behavior or conduct that endangers yourself or others in any way;

Violent behavior;

Damage to University or FF facilities, property, housing, campus facilities, transportation vehicles, or public property;

Plagiarism or cheating;

Falsification of documents or personal records; and

Disciplinary Action

FF staff will conduct an investigation and/or review before taking Disciplinary Action.  Note: a student will be immediately removed from the Program if they engage in violent, threatening, or abusive behavior toward another Program participant or any person within the FF group, FF staff, University faculty/staff, Program housing staff, or others cooperating with the Program.

Disciplinary Action may include, but is not limited to, any of the following:

Notification: FF may notify the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) of any violation of FF policies;

Restitution: Students may be required to pay for damages or theft;

Dismissal: Students may be permanently dismissed from the Program.
